New research, new teaching.
My research page is updated to reflect my latest projects, and I'm teaching a new course (MATH 134 -- Enriched linear algebra) at McGill.
New undergraduate notes, new CV.
I've started typing up my linear algebra notes in order to make a short book about basic linear algebra, the first part is on the teaching page. I've also updated my CV above.
New research, new CV and research statement.
New research and new links.
Two articles are now in print, with links on the research page. I also have a new article in preparation with Liam Watson and Tye Lidman, concerning graph manifolds with left-orderable fundamental group. The main result of this new paper is that the fundamental group of every toroidal integer homology sphere graph manifold is left-orderable. We use new results of Bludov and Glass concerning amalgamations of left-orderable groups, as well as some Heegaard-Floer Dehn surgery results.
The research page has been updated. Liam Watson and I have extended our results about non-left-orderable surgeries on knots to cover the case of cable knots. I've also written a short note that applies left orderings to the problem of determining when a braid group homomorphism is injective.
